Job summary

DTE Energy is seeking a Community Engagement professional to assist in planning, executing, and monitoring engagement initiatives to support the company's credibility and reputation. You will work with the group leader and team to develop recommendations, program enhancements, and expansions, and represent DTE externally at events while building relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline with at least 3 years of job-relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people inside and outside the company.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Willingness to assist on programs in other Community Engagement areas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer skills including MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS SharePoint.
  • Consulting and influencing skills to build relationships and influence decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of people and groups to achieve effective and efficient results.
  • Ability to attend external events during and outside of normal work hours.
  • Local/Regional travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day execution of assigned Community Engagement program activities, including logistical support for ongoing work and specific events.
  • Provides logistical support to other Community Engagement programs as needed.
  • Works with cross-functional teams across the company and with external organizations.
  • Leverages resources of all Community Engagement groups, as well as other corporate support and operational groups to implement programs.
  • Gathers data, monitors, and reports program metrics that support the overall Community Engagement Scorecard.
  • Maintains and updates a database of relevant community events and contacts.
  • Assists in the preparation of presentations and business cases related to the Community Engagement programs.
  • Utilizes continuous improvement principles, methods, and tools to develop and implement programs and identify process improvements.
  • Participates in ongoing program evaluation through after-action reviews and other effectiveness reviews to determine improvements or recommendations.
  • Manages relationships with external community stakeholders.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Hybrid Role

Must be able to come on‑site periodically and reside at a commutable distance from the assigned work location.

Emergency Response

Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
