Job Summary

Location: Various, United States

Working for the Project Management Office (PMO), the position is responsible for managing technical aspects of projectdevelopment from inception through initiation of construction with continued supporting role through start up and close out. Powerindustry experience is essential particularly in the areas of gas turbines and gas/electrical interconnects. Carbon Captureexperience is a plus, particularly in the areas compression and carbon capture well drilling and sequestration.

Work involvesperforming difficult and complex services requiring a high level of independent judgment, initiative, and discretion. Work is mainlyself-directed, with work results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures. Must livewithin a commutable distance from DTE's Detroit, MI headquarters, however, the majority of work will be done remotely.

Key Accountabilities
  • Screen projects to determine technical viability
  • Ensure that personnel safety and environmental awareness are incorporated in design
  • Facilitate development and review of Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) specifications and drawings
  • Prepare formal RFP packages and manage competitive bidding processes, including evaluation of proposals and selection ofcontractors and vendors
  • Develop cost estimates and expenditure forecasts for management review, if applicable
  • Review, manage and organize project documentation including technical specifications, calculations, and drawings to ensureprotection of owner's technical and financial position
  • Coordinate performance test procedure development and evaluate performance test results
  • Oversee contractors, consultants, engineers, vendors, and government agencies to complete projects within scope, schedule andbudget.
  • Perform technical due diligence activities in support of acquisition efforts.
  • Travel within the continental United States; expected to be about 10% to 30%, depending on the stage of project implementation, and may increase to >75% during startup
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, or Construction Management, with 8 ormore years of experience as a project engineer, project manager or construction manager
Other Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer and/or Project Management Professional

Other Requirements:

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess strong presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of MS computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge Procore Project Management Software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Capable of working alone or as part of a team without a significant level of supervision
  • Ability to manage budgets, project costs and scheduling
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of promoting and maintaining strong, positive relationships with coworkers, suppliers, contractors, vendors, engineeringfirms, and customers
  • Willingness to share expertise and knowledge with other team members for the benefit of the entire company
  • Willingness to acquire new technical skills
  • Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within theorganization and employees may report to both a functional leader and a business leader

The employee performs job duties primarily in a work from home capacity and periodically from a climate-controlled office environment, with a moderate noise level. However, on an occasional basis the employee may be required to travel to project sites where noise levels and environmental conditions may vary.
