A leading organization is seeking a Program Manager for their Clinical Nurse Scholar Program. The position involves overseeing the project's strategic and operational priorities, enhancing nurse retention through mentoring, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project success. Ideal candidates will have significant leadership experience in continuing care and nursing management.
Clinical Nurse Scholar Program: The goal of the project is to increase nurse retention rates by providing clinical nurse scholars to work alongside new and novice nurses, international educated nurses, or nurses new to continuing and home care. By leveraging the expertise and guidance of clinical nurse scholars, this project seeks to enhance the confidence, knowledge, and skills of nurses new to continuing care environments.
Reporting to and in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Program Manager (PM) will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Clinical Nurse Scholar Program.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Program Manager (PM) will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Clinical Nurse Scholar Program. Under the guidance of the CEO, the PM will be responsible for setting and executing the strategic and operational priorities for the Clinical Nurse Scholar Program. The PM will lead the work with provincial partners to develop the Clinical Nurse Scholar program in Alberta and will be responsible for ensuring the effective deployment of resources, supporting change management, and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement.
The Program Manager is responsible for:
Managing full project life cycle including initial planning, scoping, design, implementation and evaluation
Directing the development of mentor training materials, ensuring alignment with current evidence-based practice and regulatory requirements.
Facilitating internal planning and stakeholder consultation with alignment from the Clinical Nurse Scholar Program plan.
Developing and maintaining partnerships with continuing care and home care partners and other stakeholders.
Participating in relevant committee work related to Clinical Nurse Scholar Program.
Leading team meetings and community of practice in collaboration with continuing care partners.
Ensuring data collection for evaluation. Document and report project status against established objectives, milestones, budgets and resources
Coordinating program audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Effectively communicating with the CEO, other team members and stakeholders to ensure the success of Clinical Scholar program.
Assuming responsibility for other initiatives and duties that may be assigned.
Promoting and participating in a work team culture that produces an environment of fun and production working towards the success of the AAN.
Serving as an ambassador for the AAN and its members.
The ideal candidate should possess a broad range of expertise and skills, including:
A baccalaureate degree in nursing, master’s degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Active nursing license with an Alberta Regulator, and AAN membership.
Leadership experience working in Continuing Care environments including Home Care, long-term care homes.
Five to ten years of Leadership/Management/Project Management with proven skills and abilities to lead a project, people and partners.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Self-motivated
Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
