Job summary

HIRTA Public Transit is seeking a Volunteer Program Manager to lead and expand our volunteer program in Urbandale, IA, serving older adults, veterans, and people with disabilities. This full-time role includes program oversight, community outreach, and collaboration with partners to enhance service delivery.

The ideal candidate is passionate about volunteers and communities, with a valid driver's license to use HIRTA vehicles for essential travel.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, onboarding, and retaining volunteers and volunteer centers through active community outreach
• Supervising a Program Coordinator and providing ongoing program leadership
• Collecting, reviewing, and reporting program statistics
• Processing mileage reimbursement claims and ensuring program compliance, including maintaining current volunteer documentation
• Supporting marketing and community education efforts to promote HIRTA's services
• Participating in regular manager-staff meetings
• Maintaining a person-centered approach in all interactions with the HIRTA team, community partners, and volunteers

Job description

The Volunteer Program Manager is a full-time position with benefits, including IPERS, responsible for leading and expanding HIRTA#39;s volunteer program in service of older adults, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
