Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems’ Launch and Exploration Division in Magna, UT is seeking a Program Manager 1 to lead the design and execution of the HMX Complex replacement. You will coordinate with the general contractor, facilities, and engineering teams to keep the program within budget and compliant with contract, FAR, and NG requirements.

You will drive EVM, manage schedule, risk, and budget, mentor teams, and interface with vendors and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred), Business, or Finance with 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• At least 2 years’ experience leading multiple teams and managing projects as a technical lead, CAM, or Project Manager
• Familiarity with Production Facilities, Tooling Design, Property Management Systems, and Integration knowledge
• Effective Communication skills
• Ownership mentality
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance
• US Citizenship required
• Active Secret Clearance (preferred)
• Experience managing DoD EVMS compliance
• Familiarity with rocket motor manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of safety, quality, scope, schedule, technology, and cost targets.
• Drive Earned Value Management (EVM) – monthly variance analysis, ETC updates, risk‑opportunity assessments, and budget stewardship.
• Champion continuous improvement and challenge the status quo; mentor and influence team members.
• Set expectations, provide feedback, and manage performance of functional managers (contracts, finance, engineering, operations).
• Coordinate with program stakeholders and vendors to ensure alignment with strategy and contract terms.
