Job summary

Leonardo Electronics US Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Program Manager to oversee and coordinate major government contracts.

You will serve as primary customer contact and provide regular status updates to management, while leading proposal development and cross-functional teams. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of DoD, DoT, or DoE project experience, strong communication, and solid program control abilities including WBS, scheduling and cost tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant prior experience in Government contracting or research and development.
• Program Manager or Control Account Manager experience in design and development and/or build contracts including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) definition, schedule generation, financial analysis/reporting, and resource management.
• Experience in Proposal Management including planning and cost estimation.
• Experience managing large, complex projects for the Department of Defense, Department of Transportation or the Department of Energy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Successful experience in leading and managing multi-disciplined teams.
• Strong presentation and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• The generation of program plans based off the contract, Statement of Work, and Customer’s intent.
• This includes, building a WBS and understanding facility and test equipment needs, as well as the identification and planning of staff within the program budget.
• Execute multiple complex programs to ensure cost, schedule and technical metrics are being tracked and within program plans.
• Provide expertise in proposal development by leading the capture and proposal writing/delivery while ensuring adherence to gated capture process.
• Identify and address conflicts to appropriate resolution both internally within the program team as well as externally with the customer regarding execution assumptions and prioritization.
• Create Subcontractor statements of work and manage/track Subcontractors to ensure proper execution.
• Leadmulti-functional teams.
• Provide regular program briefs to program team as well as Leonardo Laser and Leonardo Corporate Leadership teams.
• Create and maintain an environment that fosters collaboration by giving clear direction and constructive feedback to the team.
• Monitor progress against goals: anticipate risks, resolve issues, and initiate corrective actions as appropriate.
• Provide mentorship to team members.
• Identify program opportunities and create and direct plans to realize increased growth and/or impact within a currently executing program.
• Support the development of Leonardo Growth Strategies.

About this position

Job Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating program activities to meet customer commitments.
