Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Tempe, AZ, offers a program leadership role for advanced Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems targeting defense and space markets. Hybrid work schedule with cross-functional leadership across engineering, supply chain, customer support and finance.

You will report to the Director of Program Management and drive operational excellence, risk management, and on-time, on-budget delivery, shaping strategic outcomes for the CS business unit.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage programs to ensure successful execution and delivery.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery.
  • Communicate complex program management and financial issues to all levels, linking program performance with financial results.
  • Approve resource requirements and cost estimates while leading integrated program teams through the IPDS process.
  • Ensure overall portfolio financial performance to AOP and STRAP.
  • Employ PM tools and development processes (EVM, SOW, WBS, BOE, scope/requirements management, scheduling, cost management).
  • Establish and own a programmatic Management Operating System (MOS).
  • Review cost and schedule metrics with Program Control to make data-driven decisions.
  • Drive policy changes, especially Flawless Launch and On Time Launch.
  • Drive change control and risk management identification & mitigation.
  • Baseline Management and Scope Change Control OS.
  • Drive Free of Charge Hardware achievement.
  • Collaborate and mentor integrated program teams and onboard new program managers.

Job description

You will provide program leadership for the development, qualification, and transition to production for advanced Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems targeted for the Defense and Space marketplace where this technology yields high benefits. This is a key Honeywell Aerospace strategic technology thrust which raises the importance and visibility of this role to high leadership levels.

You will interface with multiple levels of functional leadership in Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Customer and Product Support, and Finance to build cross-organizational support and serve as an escalation point should program challenges occur. You will be accountable for revenue growth, margin expansion, cost control and time-to-market commitments. You will achieve breakthrough improvements in program performance by exerting performance management and leadership influence through deployment of other cost- effective and proactive program management practices.

You will report directly to our Director of Program Management and you’ll work out of our Tempe, Arizona location (or other locations with approval) on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the Control Systems business unit by ensuring the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage programs to ensure successful execution and delivery
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery before they become critical issues.
  • Ability to communicate complex program management and financial issues to all levels, effectively linking program performance with financial results and product line strategy.
  • Approve resource requirements and cost estimates while leading integrated program teams through the IPDS process.
  • Ensure overall portfolio financial performance to AOP and STRAP.
  • Employ PM tools and development processes, including earned value management (EVM), statement-of-work (SOW), work-breakdown- structure (WBS), basis-of-estimate (BOE) management, scope / requirements management, scheduling, and cost management.
  • Establish and own a programmatic Management Operating System (MOS)
  • Partner with Program Control (PC) team member(s) to review and analyze cost and schedule metrics to make data-driven resource decisions.
  • Drive critical program management policies as a change agent, including:
  • Ensure Adherence to Flawless Launch and On Time Launch
  • Change control and risk management identification & mitigation
  • Baseline Management and Scope Change Control Operating Systems.
  • Drive Free of Charge Hardware achievement
  • Collaborate and mentor integrated program teams and help onboard new program managers.
