Job summary

Moog Inc. in Goleta, CA is seeking a Program Manager to oversee multiple production or development initiatives valued between $1–$12 million.

The role requires cross-functional coordination, strong communication, and the ability to manage DoD-related contracts and customer communications. Responsibilities include developing program plans, tracking cost/schedule, and delivering status reports while collaborating with Moog's functional departments to meet performance and profitability goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field, preferably Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, or operations in highly engineered manufacturing.
  • Lead, organize, and influence people with strong communication and emotional intelligence.
  • Present program information to customers and internal management; navigate high pressure situations.
  • Proficiency with MS Project required.
  • Experience managing multiple programs simultaneously preferred.
  • Experience managing Development Programs is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management is a plus.
  • Experience working with DoD customers; knowledge of DoD contractual terms a plus.
  • PMI PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple production or development initiatives, typically valued between $1–$12 million; develop comprehensive program plans and direct execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer and deliver required reports to client and Moog leadership.
  • Coordinate internal updates to ensure alignment and transparency across the organization.
  • Develop program plans and schedules; monitor cost, schedule, and task completion to ensure plan adherence.
  • Coordinate with functional management to assign program resources.
  • Manage day-to-day communications with the customer to resolve issues promptly.
  • Prepare presentation materials for meetings and reviews; manage meetings and reviews.
  • Prepare regular status reports for management and the customer, highlighting issues and risks.
  • Assist in proposals and change orders; support fact-finding and negotiations.

Moog Space and Defense Groupprovides sub-systems and components for every mission critical system on a modern military vehicle. Our heritage is in electrohydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems and now, through acquisitions and internal developmentoffullTurreted Weapon Systems (TWS) solutions.

Our Space and Defense Group is looking for a Program Managerto join our teamin Goleta, CA. This is a cross-functional role that requires coordination between many different groups within and outside of Moog.

Here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field, preferably Engineering.
  • 5 years of prior experience in engineering, supply chain, or operations or similar in the manufacturing of products for the aerospace or defense industries or other highly engineered manufacturing environments.
  • Lead, organize, and influence people through outstanding communication and facilitation skills; all while demonstrating strong awareness of emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to efficiently present program information to customers and internal management; ability to navigate high pressure situations.
  • Proficiency with MS Project required.

The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple production or development initiatives, typically valued between $1-$12 million.This role encompasses developing comprehensive plans for each assigned program and directing execution through Moog's functional departments to ensure fulfillment of contractual requirements, as well as achievement of performance and profitability objectives. Serving as the primary point of contact for the customer, the Program Manager manages all program-related communications, delivers required reports to both the client and Moog leadership, and coordinates internal updates to ensure alignment and transparency across the organization.

As a Program Manager, you will...
  • Develop program plans and schedules to ensure coordination between all program elements. Monitor the status of cost, schedule, and task completion to ensure compliance with program plans.
  • Coordinate with functional management to ensure the assignment of program resources.
  • Conduct daytoday communications with the customer to resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and manage all program activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the preparation of presentation materials for internal and customer meetings and reviews. Manage the conduct of such meetings and reviews.
  • Prepare regular status reports, for management and the customer, which provide visibility for program issues and risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and change orders, and support fact-finding and negotiations to ensure completeness from a program management viewpoint.
  • Travel up to 10%

Salary Range Transparency:

Santa Barbara, CA $140,000.00-$165,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
