Job summary

Meharry Medical College is seeking a Program Manager to help plan, execute, and track outcomes for community-engaged, health disparity research programs within a collaborative academic and community setting.

You will oversee day-to-day project and budget management, develop tracking systems, prepare progress reports, coordinate stakeholder meetings, and assist with grants and budgets, with a master's degree and at least two years of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree is required for this role.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in program or project management.
• Experience with community engagement or health disparity research is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Program Manager will assist in planning, executing, and tracking outcomes and deliverables as part of developing and maintaining a portfolio of community-engaged, health disparity research programs.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Oversee and assist with implementation of day-to-day project and budget management for community-engaged, health disparity research programs, including in collaboration with other academic institutions and community-based organizations and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain systems for tracking multiple community-engaged, health disparity research program deadlines, activities, and outcomes.
• Develop and coordinate progress reports and presentations as required by research program sponsors or in communicating programmatic outcomes to diverse stakeholder audiences.
• Plan and provide logistical support for research and community stakeholder meetings.
• Assist with development and coordination of research grant proposals and budgets.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Strong system development skills, including high proficiency with software programs.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the full suite of Microsoft office products.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred

• Completed master's degree in a public health, community health, or related scientific field.
• Prior community engagement and/or community-engaged research experience.
• Prior program or project management experience.

Education and Experience Required

• Master's degree required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
