Our ideal Program Manager has experience managing energy efficiency programs for large utility clients in the income eligible or new construction market sectors. Show us how you collaborate with program teams and clients and how you include under-represented perspectives to drive better ideas.

You’re a key collaborator that drives excellence and innovation. You’ve delivered large energy efficiency programs and worked with utility clients to accurately forecast, plan, and communicate to meet savings goals. Your background includes experience working with teams to identify opportunities to save energy on multi-family projects and utilizing data management tools to track program/project data.

Our preferred candidate will live in Michigan or a surrounding state.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the activities for Slipstream’s programs.
  • Assist with the development of annual program plans, propose and track goals, develop and manage budgets, establish operational metrics, and develop promotions and programs that are in line with the market and that will help further the reach of efficient energy saving products in the market.
  • Collaborate with utility client on program strategy and delivery, including regular meetings to discuss program metrics.
  • Manage and analyze large sets of program data in order to meet client reporting requirements.
  • Utilize an understanding of market channels to determine how best to deliver product-related services; implement new service delivery; and evaluate whether the delivery is meeting demand.
  • Interface with other Slipstream Program and Project Managers to assure integration of appropriate activities among market sectors.
  • Investigate new technologies to determine energy savings potential and include those new technologies in program offerings as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with outreach staff to provide technical trainings to program allies and other parties as needed.
  • Coordinate the development of program marketing materials with the Marketing Managers as needed.
  • Qualify and conduct technical analysis of proposed energy efficiency projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering team to review clean energy projects to quantify anticipated energy savings.
  • Utilize administrative support staff to facilitate communications with clients and project tracking.
  • Communicate with end-use customers, trade allies and other parties to collect data necessary to qualify projects and conduct technical analysis.
  • Assist with program M&V activities, expectations, deliverables and communications to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • .Participate in long term program planning and evaluation
  • Manage the evolution of the program including changes over time to ensure cost effective delivery objectives are met.
  • Evaluate program activities to determine applicable changes to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Work with various operational staff to identify opportunities for streamlining the processing of applications and to implement processimprovements that increase the efficiency of program delivery activities.
  • Assist Partnership Development staff with responses to RFP’s both for new and existing clients.
  • Coordinate with external parties, such as sponsors, governmental agencies, and national affiliates, on program issues and develop partnerships that benefit the program and represent Slipstream at regional and national conferences, for example American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE), Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE), etc., and as appropriate actively participate as a member of assigned workgroups.
  • These responsibilities are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned from time-to-time.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of work-related experience, preferably in project management, program budget management, sales and promotional planning
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel

  • Fully remote position with the ability to work from home or another suitable location with reliable internet access.
  • Flexible schedules, meetings generally occurring 9–4 in Central Time zone.
  • Requires a quiet and professional workspace for virtual meetings and collaboration.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily a sedentary role, with tasks typically performed while sitting or occasionally standing
  • Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Tasks demand visual focus for reading and working on screens.
  • This position frequently communicates via phone and video conferencing, with in-person interactions as applicable.
