Job summary

K&A Power Group in Binghamton, NY is seeking a seasoned Program Manager to lead multi-discipline utility projects through engineering, procurement, and construction phases. The role emphasizes leadership, cost control, scheduling, and risk management to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate holds PgMP or PMP certification with 10+ years of large-scale experience, strong stakeholder communication, and proficiency in MS Project/Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of large-scale project program management for the utility business.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Minimum five years of experience in Gas-Hydro and OSG functional areas.
  • Ability to influence, lead, and manage change thoughtfully and positively.
  • Strong project management skills and strategic perspective.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Hybrid schedule: must report to the office three times a week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-discipline team through the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phases of various programs.
  • Demonstrate leadership toward contractors’ project teams covering quality assurance, engineering, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, commissioning, industrial labor relations and safety to achieve program quality while respecting budget and schedule objectives.
  • Plan, monitor, appraise, review, and deliver program activities in accordance with organizational goals.
  • Focus on SPI and CPI performance indicators as decision drivers.
  • Oversee scheduling and cost control activities.
  • Prepare and complete action plans; implement and report on production, productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards; identify risks, resolve problems, complete audits, identify trends, determine improvements, and implement change.
  • Develop and execute a program evaluation framework to assess program strengths and identify improvement targets.
  • Interface with executive sponsors, business leaders, and stakeholders to ensure all requirements are captured.
  • Maintain and execute Program Initiation and Program Management Plan, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Develop onboarding, training, and resource retention plans.
  • Achieve efficiencies by accepting responsibility and accountability for results and exploring opportunities to add value to the organization.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Program Manager to join our team at K&A Power Group. In this role you will work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors.

$125,000–$135,000 per year.
