Job summary

Kforce Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to coordinate and complete electrical power deployment projects across the fulfillment network in the United States. You will oversee utility upgrades, gas generator installations, switchgear deployments, and air permitting across multiple states.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on project management in electrical infrastructure, with PMP/PE preferred. You will lead cross-functional teams, track progress, and report to upper management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Energy Systems, or related field.
• PMP, PE, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on project management experience in electrical infrastructure, power generation, or utility-scale energy projects.
• Familiar with medium and low voltage switchgear (480V-15kV) and transformer sizing/installation.
• Experience with generator systems (natural gas and diesel, 500kW-5MW).
• Experience with air permitting, and coordination with agencies.

• Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of the program
• Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of all projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Energy Systems, or related field
• PMP, PE, or equivalent certification preferred
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on project management experience in electrical infrastructure, power generation, or utility‑scale energy projects
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures including:
• Medium and low voltage switchgear (480V-15kV)
• Transformer sizing, installation, and commissioning
• Generator systems (natural gas and diesel, 500kW-5MW)
• Utility interconnection and service upgrades
• Power metering and protection systems
• Demonstrated experience managing 10+ concurrent projects simultaneously
• Experience with switchgear procurement - ordering, tracking lead times, verifying specifications, and coordinating delivery
• Experience with air permitting - preparing applications, tracking submissions, and managing agency interactions for stationary power generation equipment
• Ability to follow and verify compliance with owner/client technical specifications across all project deliverables
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to navigate utility timelines, easements, service applications, and capacity constraints
• Leads and directs the work of others - proven experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross‑functional teams
• Proven ability to execute at speed - comfortable with compressed timelines and parallel workstreams
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically to project sites during critical phases
• Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
