Job summary

NEXTGEN Healthcare in Atlanta seeks a strategic Program Manager to lead large, cross-functional initiatives across the organization, driving alignment, governance, accountability, and execution with senior stakeholders and external vendors. This role requires 10+ years in program management, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage budgets, risks, and dependencies in complex transformations.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in Project or Program Management Software, IT or similar experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in management role, preferably in program management.
  • 6+ years' experience in continuous improvement, process management, or customer service.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation; strong leadership and executive communication.

Responsibilities

  • Work with sponsor, cross-functional teams and project managers to define scope, deliverables, resources, plan, budget and timing.
  • Liaise with project managers to build essential relationships for project success.
  • Direct, develop and manage program/project development from start to finish with full-scale plans and communications.
  • Develop and manage budgets and ensure delivery against business goals.
  • Plan, manage, track, and schedule timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Provide progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
  • Drive process improvements and support project fruition.
  • Perform other duties to support overall objectives.

Job Description:

We are seeking a strategic Program Manager to lead large, complex, cross-functional initiatives across the organization. This role focuses on driving alignment, governance, accountability, and execution across multiple teams, senior stakeholders, and external vendors. The ideal candidate has successfully led enterprise-scale transformation and modernization programs, thrives in ambiguity, is motivated by solving complex problems, influences without direct authority, and excels at keeping complex initiatives on track by proactively managing risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.

  • Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget and timing of initiatives.
  • Liaison with project managers to build relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Direct, develop and manage Program/Project Development from beginning to end with full scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Develop and manage budget for projects and accountability for delivering against established business goals/objectives.
  • Plan, manage, track, and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Conduct project assessments and generate recommendations report containing estimation of resources needed to achieve project goals and negotiation needed with other department managers personnel assets needed.
  • Provide progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
  • Contribute in the process for improvement activities and assist in driving and supporting to fruition.
  • Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
Education Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
Experience Required
  • 10+ years' experience in Project or Program Management Software, IT or similar experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in management role, preferably in program management.
  • 6+ years' experience in continuous improvement, process management, or customer service.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of:Exceptional knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques. Knowledge of enhancement of existing products; methodology application tactics in diverse scenarios; industry expertise in specific area of program to be managed; network and PC operating systems; Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • Skill in:Strong leadership and management skills; project management, executive level communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to:Lead various large and complex projects through its life cycle to completion; produce cost estimates and deployment plans; work in a fast-paced environment; stay organized, prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Establish and maintaining effective working relationships.
