Recruitment, Relocation, and Student Loan Incentives may be authorized. 2026 Salary Range ($89,508-$138,370) Yearly Job Open Date 09/17/2026 Job Close Date 10/08/2026 Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens In this position you will serve as the Vehicle Control Officer (VCO) for the 75th Civil Engineer Group (75 CEG), directly executing the unit's Government Motor Vehicle (GMV) fleet operations to ensure absolute logistical readiness, regulatory compliance, and modernization in support of USAF war fighting capabilities. The position directs, analyzes, and optimizes the unique tactical vehicle requirements, spearheads comprehensive vehicle operations training, and manages all qualification programs linked to the operation of government vehicles. This vital logistical and training oversight supports the Operations Division, the Engineering Division, the 75 CES Craftsmen, and the specialized emergency response forces of the 775 CES (Firefighters, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and Emergency Management).

Recruitment Knowledge Skills And Abilities

• Expert Knowledge of USAF Logistics and Vehicle Management Programs: Expert knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force transportation policies, directives, and regulations (e.g., AFI 24-302, Vehicle Management; AFMAN 24-306, Manual for the Wheeled Vehicle Driver). Thorough understanding of fleet operations, vehicle authorization, utilization metrics, and rotation procedures to ensure mission readiness and compliance with agency standards.
• Knowledge of Analytical and Evaluative Methods: Expert knowledge of advanced analytical and evaluative techniques used to measure fleet program effectiveness, assess vehicular support requirements, and optimize resource allocation. Ability to conduct utilization studies, analyze complex data from systems like DPAS (Defense Property Accountability System) or LIMS-EV, and evaluate long-term trends to improve organizational productivity.
• Skill in Program Management and Strategic Planning: Skill in managing comprehensive organizational programs across multiple echelons. Demonstrated ability to serve as a project lead, develop mutually acceptable fleet management plans with leadership and the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), and establish long-range (5+ years) fleet modernization and sustainment goals.
• Ability to Interpret and Develop Regulatory Guidance: Ability to use technical expertise, independent judgment, and discretion to interpret existing logistics policies and revise local operating instructions. Skill in developing tracking formats, study criteria, and compliance metrics for use by subordinate units and vehicle operators to ensure strict adherence to safety, licensing, and abuse/misuse regulations.
• Ability to Communicate Effectively, Both Orally and in Writing: Ability to present complex statistical data, fleet evaluations, and resource justification recommendations clearly and concisely to senior leadership. Skill in negotiating with external organizations (e.g., LRS, Base Safety) and disseminating critical fleet readiness information to managers across various geographic locations or organizational lines.
