Job summary

Sevita is seeking a Residential Manager to provide leadership and supervision for Residential Operations, including Supervisors and Team Leaders, and to manage programming for quality service in residential and community settings.

Responsibilities include recruiting and developing staff, budgeting, admissions decisions, licensing compliance, safety, medication administration, and coordinating with executive teams. Travel and regular reporting are required.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience with group home operation preferred.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience required.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license, car registration and auto insurance if transporting participants.
  • Licensure as required by state.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, hires, supervises and develops Residential Supervisors and Team Leaders.
  • Ensures shifts are covered and manages home budgets and fiscal activities.
  • Participates in admissions and clinical reviews for participant placement.
  • Ensures licensing, procedures, and agency regulations are followed.
  • Oversees safety, emergency procedures and medication administration per guidelines.
  • Manages program transitions and participates in executive committee work.
  • Performs safety inspections, environmental surveys and facility maintenance checks.
  • Monitors supplies and food inventories; provides 24-hour call coverage as needed.
  • Supports families and may supervise vehicle use; completes monthly reports.
  • Attends weekly interdisciplinary and bi-weekly management meetings; undergoes annual training.

SUMMARY

The Residential Manager provides leadership, oversight and supervision to Residential Operations including Supervisors and Team Leaders. The Residential Manager also manages programming and ensures quality in all residential and community operations providing direct services to program participants. The RM may manage residential labor plans.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

  • Recruits, hires, supervise and develop qualified Residential Supervisors, Team Leaders and other residential staff.Ensures that all shifts are adequately covered within the homes.

  • Participates in the development of home budget and ensures the fiscal management of the house.

  • Participates on admission team and ensures successful admission of participants into residences, including participation in clinical review and decisions regarding potential admissions.

  • Ensures compliance by residential staff with all licensing, procedures and other agency regulations.

  • Ensures that required safe practice, safety rules and emergency procedures are followed and carried out by all staff.

  • Ensures that medication assistance given to residents is timely and in proper order/dosage, according to pharmacy, nursing and state regulations and in compliance with guidelines established by treatment team.

  • Ensures adherence to program transition guidelines to allow for a smooth transition for program participants between the residences or to discharge environment.

  • Participates in executive committee assignments

  • Conducts safety inspections, environmental surveys and audits.Monitors appearance and proper maintenance of facilities consistent with established environmental quality standards.

  • Supervises maintenance of appropriate food and supply inventories.

  • Provides 24-hour call assistance to the apartments as needed

  • Assists in providing family support to the residential facility

  • May ensure the general maintenance and up-keep of the company vehicle assigned to the house

  • Completes monthly required reports and paperwork as needed.

  • Attends weekly staff meetings with interdisciplinary team and bi-weekly management meetings.Participates in house meetings as needed.

  • Attends mandatory training on a yearly basis and in a timely manner.

  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs and supervises assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:

Education and Experience:

  • Three years of experience with group home operation is preferred

  • At least one year of supervisory experience is required

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • CPR and First Aid
