Job summary

The MENTOR Network is seeking a Home Manager to oversee day-to-day activities, budgets, and schedules for one or more homes. You will manage hires, supervise staff, and ensure individuals receive proper care, with regulatory compliance and care plans in place.

Responsibilities include maintaining census and occupancy, coordinating programs, reporting incidents, and ensuring health and medication management.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Services or related field required as of April 2017;Bachelor’s degree required for hires before April 2017.
  • One to two years’ experience preferred.
  • CPR and first aid certification may be required.
  • Current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance if transportation is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day activities, budgets, and schedules for one or more homes and designated individuals.
  • Hire, train, and schedule staff; provide leadership including supervision and orientation.
  • Maintain census, maximize utilization and occupancy; coordinate activities and appointments.
  • Develop and monitor data collection and Individual Program Plans; complete monthly summaries.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and safety; manage incident reporting and corrective actions.
  • Liaise with case managers, guardians, and referral agents as appropriate.
  • Travel as needed.

Summary

The Home Manger oversees the day-to-day activities, budgets, and schedules for one or more homes, and manages hires, and trains, home staff. This role is responsible for ensuring individuals receiving services are properly managed and cared for, including implementing programs and services, coordinating activities and appointments, maintaining records for individuals served, and complying with regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manages the day to day activities, budgets, and schedules for one or more homes and designated individuals.
  • Manages, hires, trains, and schedules staff.
    • Provides leadership including direct supervision of staff; implements Network employee practices; ensures safety and workers’ compensation initiatives are followed; and ensures employees receive appropriate orientation and training.
  • Maintains census and maximizes utilization and occupancy percentages within programs.
  • Maintains and fosters relations with individuals receiving services, families and guardians, and implements individual satisfaction enhancement plans as appropriate.
    • Maintains and fosters relations with case managers and referral agents and lobbies on behalf of individuals supported and Network as appropriate.
  • Implements program plans for individuals receiving services and submits incident reports as appropriate.
    • Ensures timely incident reporting and implements individual corrective action
  • Develops, implements, revises, and monitors data collection and Individual Program Plans for individual training programs. Completes monthly data summaries and make revisions as needed
  • Implements safety plans and coordinates scheduling for supported individuals. Ensures individuals are receiving appropriate health and medication management. Assists in the management of youth funds.
  • Ensures homes are clean, neat, and safe; and works with and/or contacts maintenance as appropriate.
  • Completes purchasing of program supplies and submits billing compliance documentation.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directs and supervises assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.

Education And Experience
  • Master’s degree in Human Services or related field required as of April 2017. Bachelor’s degree required for anyone hired prior to April 2017.
