Job summary

Think Together is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader to guide an in-person group of 20–25 students across California districts and school sites. You will serve as a positive role model, coach, and mentor, delivering academic enrichment and healthy activity with a strong emphasis on safety and engagement.

The role requires leadership, patience, and excellent communication to support students' growth in a nurturing environment. Bilingual Spanish is preferred to support English learners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• District-specific 48 sem/60 quarter units or pass pre-employment test.
• Ability to speak and write Standard English in a public school setting.
• Must pass Live Scan background check.
• Provide negative TB Test dated within the last 3 years.
• At least six months experience working with a group of 10+ students in classroom/afterschool.
• Advanced Math and English skills (K–8).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Bi-literate in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of 20-25 students in an in-person classroom, maintaining behavior and safety.
• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment, and physical activity using program materials.
• Assist daily with snack preparation, serving, and cleanup.
• Set up, break down, and maintenance to keep sites clean and orderly.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and sign-in/out; communicate needs to Site Program Manager.

Overview

Program LeaderPart-Time $ 20/hr Program Leaders work with an assigned group of students, student to staff ratio is contingent upon CDC guidelines. This is a part time, in‑person position in districts and school site locations throughout California. Program Leaders act as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor. Program Leaders must have a genuine interest in the growth, development, and provision of a safe and nurturing environment for the students they teach. A Program Leader’s ability to establish authority and connections through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, will be required in giving our students the stability and nurturing atmosphere they need to succeed. Ensuring that Think Together students reach their potential takes a tremendous amount of hard work, flexibility, and commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of students in an in‑person setting, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety by implementing the Think Together four core agreements:

Be safe Be respectful Be responsible Have fun

• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging that kids want to be in.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices and take disciplinary measures when appropriate.
• Identify student needs and communicate to Site Program Manager, teachers, school administration and parents, as appropriate.
• Participate in staff development.

In Person Learning

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Work directly with a group of 20-25 students in a classroom setting, implementing classroom and behavior management strategies.
• Assist daily with snack preparation, serving and clean up.
• Assist in set up, break down, and ongoing maintenance to keep the school or community site clean and orderly.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and reviewing sign‑in/sign‑outs for students activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Required.
• District-specific - 48 semester/60 quarter units and/or pass a pre‑employment test.
• Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public‑school setting.
• Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
• Provide negative TB Test dated within the last 3 years.
• At least six months experience working with a group of 10 or more students in a classroom, afterschool, or recreation environment.
• Advanced Math and English skills (K–8)
• Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
• Support our English‑learner population by being bi‑literate (Spanish preferred)

Other Responsibilities

• Arrives punctually in order to meet responsibilities for site start up and assignments.
• Must have the ability to utilize various digital learning platforms.
• Maintains close communication with Site Program Manager regarding planned or emergency absences.
• Maintains highest degree of confidentiality in staff, student, and volunteer matters.
• Complies with organization and site policies and follows procedures.
