Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools seeks a Program Coordinator for Minneapolis Kids at Dowling to lead staff, coordinate daily operations, and ensure high-quality childcare services at the Dowling site.

The role involves supervising childcare assistants and volunteers, aligning with district policies, and maintaining safety and program standards in collaboration with the Program Manager. Strong leadership and regulatory compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Child Development or related field; AND two years of experience in the coordination of programs serving preschool or school age children; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with the Program Manager and Administration for overall program operation at assigned MPS childcare location; provides leadership for childcare assistants, workers and volunteers.
• Develops, maintains, and supports quality programming; ensures safety and compliance with DHS requirements.
• Manages staff scheduling, performance reviews, and training; prepares reports and maintains site budget.
