Are you a FAN of families or is your family your biggest FAN? If the answer is yes, perhaps it’s because you value and demonstrate talents like being:

  • Consistent; the one who is reliable in good times and bad,
  • Curious; the one who is an effective communicator, who listens and loves to learn,
  • Caring; the one who is empathetic and shows everyone compassion and respect, and the
  • Coach; the one who supports and encourages everyone to thrive and succeed.

These FANtastic superpowers are perfect to start or continue a successful career working at our family-oriented company which provides services to intellectually and developmentally challenged adults in their homes (and community) as they participate in daily routines and recreational activities.

We will be a big FAN of yours too if, at a minimum, you have:

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent and be at least 18 years old ,
  • One (1) year of relevant experience working with Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses, or in the care of the medically fragile,

You will quickly become a FAN of our family too because in this house we provide:

But here’s a known family secret , being part of one, does take effort – it’s all about what you do (your responsibilities/contributions) and how you do it (your behaviors/superpowers) -- so here are

some of the things you can expect to experience as you build yourFANclub in this house.

There will be challenges:

  • Just like families, disabilities come in different types. You will see many of them along with the mental health challenges in the Individuals (aka the Program participants) that we serve. You will also learn about the different agencies and resources we work with to help you provide support directly, or indirectly, to the Individuals.

There will be chores:

  • You will provide assistance in the initial and on-going assessment of participants and work with assigned Individuals, their family and “circle of support” (e.g., social service agencies, health care providers, etc.) to ensure that behaviorally challenged and/or medically fragile Individuals can develop and/or maintain positive experiences while participating in community social programs and daily routines. You will accomplish this by identifying, documenting, and providing first-hand training and developmental support across a broad spectrum of activities, e.g., in the areas of physical health, personal grooming, mobility, job and personal skills training, effective communications, socialization and coping skills and other customized interventions based on their Individual Service Plan and Restricted Health Care Plan.
  • You will perform basic medical treatment as prescribed and provide first aid as needed. You will also take special care to document and complete all reporting in an accurate and timely manner. Engaging in proactive and open communications with all key stakeholders will be a priority, including advocating for any treatment modifications, alternative training methods, need for adaptive equipment, etc.

There will be chats, C.A.R.E., & cheers:

  • You will participate in all required training, team, and company meetings to build your knowledge, skills and abilities to grow in the family. We like to promote from within our own house!
  • You will take ownership of your own behaviors, and help coach others over time, in how to effectively demonstrate the company’s C.A.R.E. values (compassion, adaptability, respect, and empowerment).
  • You will receive ongoing coaching and performance feedback and be recognized for your personal and team contributions in addition to demonstrating the C.A.R.E. values.
