Job summary

ESCO Maritime seeks a senior program finance professional to guide financial strategy across defense programs. You will lead budgeting, cost management, and EVMS-related reporting while partnering with PMs and executive leadership to optimize profitability and risk controls.

The role requires deep knowledge of government accounting standards, ERP systems, and advanced Excel capabilities, with COBRA experience preferred and U.S. export eligibility as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in program finance, preferably within defense or aerospace.
  • Strong knowledge of government accounting standards (FAR/DFARS/CAS).
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data modeling).
  • Hands-on EVMS tools and processes; COBRA experience preferred.
  • Ability to partner with Program Management and executive leadership.
  • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain Export Authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to Program Managers and CAMs to drive strong financial performance, cost control, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee accurate revenue recognition, invoicing, cost management, funding status, gross margin analysis, and cash-flow forecasting.
  • Lead the development of program financial strategies, baselines, long-range plans, and scenario analyses.
  • Manage monthly financial reports, EACs/ETCs, and internal program reporting packages.
  • Ensure weekly cost monitoring and compliance with budgets, charging structures, and government accounting requirements (FAR/DFARS/CAS).
  • Direct development and maintenance of WBS structures, time-phased budgets, schedules, and baseline control documentation.
  • Provide leadership for EVMS implementation and CDRL preparation, ensuring accurate, timely reporting.
  • Serve as the financial lead for proposals, including cost-volume pricing, BOEs, and audit support.
  • Identify and drive process improvements across program finance, including ERP data integrity, forecasting, and reporting efficiency.
  • Compliance with Quality Management System procedures.

  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization

Compensation Information

Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 (Annually)


Please note, this is the expected compensation however, ESCO Maritime Solutions considers many factors in determining compensation prior to office, such as: responsibilities and scope of role, candidate's work experience and education related to position, applicable certifications or trainings, business and market conditions.
