Job summary

Job description

The Finance Program Manager is responsible for managing the Internal Research & Develop (IR&D) program. This role will oversee the IR&D selection process, develop financial performance metrics and financial reports for accurate execution against a project plans, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and help senior management make tactical and strategic decisions through detailed financial reports. This position requires the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive quality EVM metrics/variances, scheduling status, subcontractor status, EACs, and program risk/opportunity assessments.

Essential Functions
  • Must be experienced in the day-to-day program finance responsibilities of managing program business and financial performance.
  • Provide Monthly, Quarterly, and Semi-Annual Financial Forecasting.
  • Prepare quarterly corporate social responsibility positions and charts.
  • Assist the program team and financial management in monitoring and tracking program expenditures, highlighting issues / concerns / trends, and ensuring program financial commitments are met.
  • Interact with a variety of program and financial management personnel and ensure alignment with company and program processes and procedures.
  • Manage the IR&D process by running project selection boards, establishing project data repository structure, support the development and revisions of project cost estimates and manage project transitions to supported business units.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report/present program level earned value and financial performance to F&BO and Program teams.
  • Effectively communicate performance to leadership teams.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
  • Embodies AEVEX’s cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Security Clearance-Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Jira and/or Tableau
  • Aptitude to facilitate results, self-starter attitude, process oriented, structured problem solver.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and exhibit a proactive, problem solving, cost conscious and company-focused mindset.
  • Deep knowledge of one pillar of business management (Finance, Scheduling, Contracts, Pricing/Estimating), working knowledge of the remaining pillars.
  • Demonstrated Financial and Analytical skills.
Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 1 year of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
Experience
  • Program finance experience to include monthly and quarterly program financial status preparation and analysis.
  • Experience and ability to interface with senior management.
  • Experience in creating and managing Budget Targets and Schedule Milestones.
  • Experience coordinating managers, cross-functional peers, coworkers, and core company personnel while working in a “team” environment.
  • Deep knowledge of one pillar of business management (Finance, Scheduling, Contracts, Pricing/Estimating), working knowledge of another pillar, familiarity and great interest to learn the remaining pillars.
  • Experience supporting and driving programs utilizing agile program management.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) / Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), including IR&D regulations.
