Job summary

Axalta Coating Systems in Troy, MI is seeking a Program Engineering Specialist to support development, launch, and market delivery of coating products. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or related applied sciences.
• Minimum six (6) years of automotive, chemical, or related industry experience, including sales, technical, and marketing roles with business acumen.
• Strong testing background with coatings; knowledge of paint formulation and application processes.
• Familiarity with customer-specific test requirements and ability to analyze failure modes and recommend solutions.
• Experience in an R&D environment and product commercialization.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization and with customers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work with multi-functional teams without direct authority.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with data-based decision-making.
• Strong data processing skills and proficiency in MS Office and Salesforce.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Support development and management of relationships with customer field teams, engineering, and manufacturing groups.
• Act as technical spokesperson to customer design, materials engineering, and paint manufacturing groups.
• Provide Voice of Customer to Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Manufacturing functions.
• Maintain program-related data accuracy in Salesforce and other internal software.
• Deliver technology reviews and reports to customers.
• Lead customer-focused product quality investigations using structured problem-solving methods.
• Support new product launches, technology transfers, and customer product approvals.
• Translate product data into effective marketing and sales tools.
• Consult cross-functional teams to identify and deliver VMI requirements and improvement opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Champion culture by building strong collaborative relationships across functions.
