Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Program Engineer (Japanese OEM Accounts) at the Troy, MI facility. You will manage program activities, provide technical support to customers, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver new products and VMI improvements.

The role requires fluent Japanese, a science-based degree, and 6+ years in automotive/chemical industries with experience in paint formulation and customer testing. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Japanese is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or related applied sciences.
• At least six years in automotive, chemical, or related industries with sales, technical, or marketing experience.
• Knowledge of paint formulation and application processes.
• Experience with customer-specific test requirements and problem-solving.
• R&D background and experience bringing products to market.

Responsibilities

• Execute assigned program activities supporting Axalta’s business objectives.
• Serve as technical spokesperson to customers and internal teams.
• Maintain data accuracy in Salesforce and other internal systems.
• Deliver technology reviews and assist with new product launches and tech transfers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet VMI requirements and customer needs.
