Job summary

Axalta seeks a Program Engineer for Japanese OEM Accounts in Troy, MI. You will manage customer relationships, provide technical leadership, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver new products and programs.

The role requires fluent Japanese, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and at least six years in automotive or chemical industries, with travel up to 25%. Visa sponsorship and relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Japanese is a necessity.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering or related applied sciences curriculum preferred.
• At least six (6) years of automotive, chemical, or related industry experience required.
• Knowledge of paint formulation and application process preferred.
• Experience in an R&D environment and bringing new products to market is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and management of relationships with customer field team members, engineering, and manufacturing staff within the assigned customer base.
• Serve as technical spokesperson to customer design, materials engineering, and paint manufacturing groups.
• Provide Voice of Customer to Axalta Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Manufacturing functions.
• Maintain accuracy of program data within Salesforce and other Axalta systems.
