Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as initial contact for program inquiries and explain services.
  • Assist with intake, enrollment, consent forms, and documentation.

  • Enter and update participant data in program systems.
  • Schedule intake appointments, orientations, and classes.

Position Summary

United Community seeks a detail-oriented and client-centered Program Eligibility Assistant to support the Job Readiness Skills Program. This part-time 30 hours per week position helps ensure that participants are welcomed, screened, enrolled, and connected to appropriate services in a timely and respectful manner. The Program Eligibility Assistant will support intake, eligibility documentation, participant communication, data entry, appointment coordination, and general administrative functions that help residents access job readiness, digital literacy, workforce preparation, and supportive services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for individuals interested in the Job Readiness Skills Program, providing clear information about program services, expectations, schedules, and next steps.
  • Conduct preliminary eligibility screening and assist participants with completing intake forms, enrollment paperwork, consent forms, and required documentation.
  • Review participant information for completeness and accuracy, follow up on missing documents, and help maintain organized participant records.
  • Enter and update participant data in program databases, spreadsheets, and case management systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Schedule intake appointments, orientation sessions, classes, assessments, and follow-up meetings with participants and program staff.
  • Communicate with participants by phone, email, text, or in person to remind them of appointments, class schedules, required documents, and program milestones.
  • Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based customer service to participants from diverse backgrounds.
  • Support coordination with internal United Community programs and external partners to help connect participants to wraparound resources, including basic needs, adult education, digital literacy, financial literacy, and workforce supports.
  • Assist with tracking attendance, participation, referrals, outcomes, and other program metrics required for internal reports, funder reports, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant information and follow organizational policies related to data privacy, documentation, and professional conduct.
  • Support general administrative tasks, including preparing materials, organizing files, making copies, coordinating supplies, and assisting with outreach events or program activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the Job Readiness Skills Program.
Work Schedule and Environment

This is a part-time position scheduled for 30 hours per week. The schedule will include daytime and evening hours and occasional community events depending on program needs. The position requires regular use of a computer, phone, and office equipment; interaction with participants and staff; and occasional local travel for outreach, partner coordination, or program activities.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in human services, social work, education, workforce development, or a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in administrative support, intake, eligibility screening, case management support, workforce development, adult education, nonprofit services, or a related setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage paperwork, deadlines, and multiple participant follow-ups.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, spreadsheets, databases, and online forms; ability to learn new data systems as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain information clearly and respectfully to participants.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and economic backgrounds.
  • Commitment to United Community's mission of building thriving communities and creating equitable opportunities through supportive services and community-driven solutions.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or another community language strongly preferred.
