Are you ready to embark on a new career endeavor?

Join The Doe Fund on our mission to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism by providing holistic services, housing, and work opportunities to underserved populations, including formerly homeless and incarcerated individuals, disconnected youth, veterans, and people living with AIDS. Our flagship transitional work program—Ready, Willing & Able—integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate individuals' return to mainstream society. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $65 million and a full-time staff of over 400.

We are seeking a Program Director for our newest permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS. This program offers long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes independence while ensuring physical and emotional security and well-being. The 98-unit residence will provide housing for 49 individuals referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA), with the remaining 49 units for moderate-income households.

The Program Director will provide leadership and direction for staff and the program. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and entrepreneurial skills, along with experience working with the HIV/AIDS population and relevant NYC and State agencies and funding sources.

We offer a competitive salary with comprehensive benefits including medical and dental coverage, retirement plan participation, sick and vacation leave, gym memberships, paid holidays, and more.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience working with homeless populations, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, those with substance abuse histories, and/or mental health issues

  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff
  • Excellent clinical and case management skills
  • Sensitivity to community issues and needs
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • High ethical standards, confidentiality, and personal integrity
  • Computer proficiency (email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the supportive housing program, including fiscal, programmatic, and administrative procedures
  • Coordinate and evaluate clinical, administrative, building maintenance, and residential services
  • Monitor program budget and contracts, ensuring proper documentation of expenses
  • Manage the intake process and maintain full program capacity
  • Provide 24-hour crisis intervention when needed
  • Train staff on harm reduction, substance abuse, and mental health topics
  • Ensure compliance with HASA and ESSHI contracts and standards
  • Complete required reports for HASA, the AIDS Institute, and The Doe Fund
  • Supervise clinical staff and ensure quality case management services
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Facilitate staff, clinical, and community meetings
  • Perform internal audits and quality assurance checks
  • Establish relationships with other agencies and community organizations
