Devereux's Westside Residential Program serves females aged 12-21 primarily carrying diagnoses of Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Disruptive Behavior Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder and feathers of Borderline Personality Disorder. Individuals may present with a range of cognitive functioning from mild intellectual disability to above average intelligence. With a 1:3 ratio, the goal for Westside students is to learn essential life skills, including emotional regulation, identifying and expressing emotions, problem-solving, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and understanding and communicating their needs appropriately. The long-term goals of these students may be stepping down to a group home or other less restrictive setting, family reunification, or independent living. Many students enjoy activities such as hair and makeup, bingo, volleyball, football, dodgeball, roller skating, arts and crafts, gardening, and listening to music. They also have unique interests and hobbies that reflect their creativity and individuality.
