Summary


Reports to the Vice President Managed Care. Responsible for development, strategic planning, assessing, analyzing and negotiating managed care contracts to maximize Johns Hopkins Medicine's position in the evolving managed care contracting market. Oversees all aspects of evaluating, developing, and negotiating fee for service, and special program contracts. Learns and understands clinical and operational aspects of contract services to develop strong contract terms. Makes strategic recommendations based on assessment of market opportunities. Responsible for assessing legal, financial and strategic implications of all contracting opportunities, including new contacts, contractual amendments and assignments to existing contracts. Represents Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions to third party payors. Works in concert with legal, finance and Hopkins Entity staff to develop workable business arrangements that are consistent with JHM strategic and contracting goals. Assists in development of policies and procedures for contracting which meet the market demands and which are consistent with the needs of JHM stakeholders, including the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians, JHHS, JHCP, Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians, HCGH, Suburban Hospital, Sibley Medical Center, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Home Care Group, and other JHM hospital, physician and other clinical entities. Supervises Single Case Agreement staff and process.



Education:


Bachelor's degrees in business or health care administration or related field. Master's degree


preferred.


Work Experience:


Work requires 10-15 years' experience in the managed care environment such as hospital/physician clinical operations, finance and/or marketing. Developed experience in contract negotiation and development required. Experience with non-HSCRC hospital contracting required.


Salary Range: Minimum $63.85/hour - Maximum $111.75/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.



In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
