Job summary

VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, Virginia, seeks a Program Director and Core Faculty for the Family Medicine Residency Program. You will supervise residents and medical students, lead educational activities in inpatient and outpatient settings, and contribute to educational administration.

Based at CMH in South Hill with collaboration to MCVCampus in Richmond, the role offers a broad scope in rural healthcare, patient care responsibilities, and opportunities to influence

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for Virginia medical license.
• Completed an accredited Family Medicine residency.
• Board-certified in Family Medicine (ABFM).
• Five+ years of Family Medicine practice.
• 3–5 years as faculty in a Family Medicine residency program.
• Experience delivering care to underserved populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical teaching and supervision of residents and medical students.
• Direct resident and medical student education in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead the Family Medicine Education Program and educational administration.
• Recruit, retain, and promote diverse residents committed to rural healthcare and high professionalism.
• Participate in residency budgeting and program improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting bodies and program standards.
