Job summary

Concorde is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Program Director in Georgia to lead the RT program, ensure academic quality, and engage with campus and community partners. You will recruit and mentor faculty, oversee curriculum, and maintain accreditation compliance.

Ideal candidate has 4+ years RT clinical experience, 2+ years in a CoArc accredited program as an educator or preceptor, a bachelor’s degree, RRT credential, and current state license.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years clinical experience as an RRT.
• Two years’ experience in a CoArc accredited program as an educator or clinical preceptor.
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree.
• Must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential.
• Must hold a current state license.

Responsibilities

• Set the example and be the role model for professionalism and conduct for program staff and students.
• Ensure academic quality of the instruction provided to the students.
• Participate in student, campus, and community activities as required.
• Actively participate in the local professional community to raise awareness of Concorde, enhance student opportunity, and build the professional network.
• Responsible for recruiting, training, orienting, and supervising faculty members for the department.
• Ensure faculty are providing active and engaging learning experiences to students within a respectful environment that is conducive to learning, and focused on student satisfaction and positive results.
• Participate in and document ongoing faculty and professional development activities including CEUs.
• Adhere to Concorde policies and accreditor standards.
• Ensure the safety of the department meets legal and regulatory guidelines and standards of the program.
• Conduct and document regular department staff/faculty meetings.
• Ensure faculty files are maintained and complete as per the Academic Dean’s requirements.
• Assist with ongoing review and development of program curriculum.

• Responsible for recruiting, training, orienting, and supervising faculty members for the department
• Ensure faculty are providing active and engaging learning experiences to students within a respectful environment that is conducive to learning, and focused on student satisfaction and positive results
• Participate in and document ongoing faculty and professional development activities including any Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that may be required for certification or licensure where required by law. This also includes ensuring these activities are occurring and documented for faculty
• Adhere to Concorde policies and accreditor standards
• Ensure the safety of the department meets legal and regulatory guidelines and standards of the program
• Conduct and document regular department staff/faculty meetings
• Ensure faculty files are maintained and complete as per the Academic Dean’s requirements
• Assist with ongoing review and development of program curriculum
• Ensure that all appropriate surveys are conducted timely and reviewed effectively
• Provide regular performance feedback, including formal classroom observations, to all faculty as appropriate and be open to coaching from Academic Dean
• Advise, coach and mentor students as appropriate and necessary
• Provide support and supervision to ensure programmatic and institutional completion, licensure and placement outcomes are met
• Ensure compliance with all requirements of programmatic and institutional accreditors including advisory committee meetings, scheduled and unannounced visits, annual reports, self-studies, and response
• Review and ensure accurate and timely course, student, and faculty scheduling
• Assist with and attend graduation as requested
• Teach classes as and when necessary and as permitted by any programmatic accreditor
• Assist with student orientations
• Participate in the budgeting process and supervise procurement to ensure that program needs are met
• Review and assist with implementation of the Satisfactory Academic Progress process, including grade audits and timely completion of student advising
• Perform other duties, as assigned

OTHER COMMENTS/REQUIREMENTS

The Program Director must have knowledge of the respiratory therapy field and the clinical application of the classroom knowledge. The Program Director must have management and communication skills and the knowledge and ability to judge instructors’ competence. The position requires a strong attention to detail and a positive professional attitude. The knowledge and skills of computer applications have become an essential component of performing the duties required of the Program Director.
