Job summary

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks a Physician Sourcing Program Director to develop, administer, and evaluate a physician sourcing and outreach program to support faculty recruitment.

The role directs day-to-day operations, develops sourcing strategies, coordinates outreach, maintains candidate pipelines, analyzes recruitment market data, and serves as a liaison to departments, HR, leadership, and external networks.

Qualifications

  • Three years of education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization.
  • Master’s Degree may substitute for one year of work experience.
  • Additional education, training and/or work experience may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct development, implementation, and day-to-day administration of a physician sourcing program; develop goals, outreach plans, timelines, procedures, and measures of effectiveness; implement workflows and tracking systems.
  • Assist with budget planning and resource allocation for sourcing tools, memberships, advertising, conferences, recruitment events, outreach platforms; track expenses and program needs.
  • Advise leadership and departments on sourcing strategies, outreach approaches, labor market data, candidate pipelines, and recruitment barriers.
  • Coordinate sourcing events, conference outreach, vendor relationships, databases, advertising resources, stakeholder meetings, and program logistics.
  • Serve as primary liaison between departments, HR, faculty leadership, external professional organizations, candidates, and stakeholders; represent the sourcing program on committees/workgroups.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, summaries, and recommendations for leadership; advise leadership on sourcing strategies and program improvements.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Position Summary

The Physician Sourcing Program Director is responsible for developing, administering, and evaluating a physician sourcing and outreach program to support faculty physician recruitment needs for the College of Medicine Peoria. This position directs the day‑to‑day operations of physician sourcing initiatives, develops sourcing strategies, coordinates outreach activities, maintains candidate pipelines, analyzes recruitment market data, and serves as a primary liaison to departments, leadership, Human Resources, and external professional networks.

The position provides professional expertise in physician sourcing, candidate outreach, recruitment marketing, pipeline development, and program operations.

The role supports the identification and engagement of qualified physician candidates, develops processes and tracking systems, prepares reports and recommendations, and ensures sourcing activities align with college priorities, university procedures, and applicable recruitment guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • A total of three (3) years (36 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.
  • Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
  • Additional education, training and/or workexperience in the area of specialization:
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience sourcing, recruiting, or conducting outreach for physicians, providers, faculty, healthcare professionals, or other highly specialized candidates preferred.
  • Experience developing candidate pipelines, outreach strategies, recruitment campaigns, or talent sourcing programs preferred.
  • Experience working with leaders, department chairs, physicians, administrators, Human Resources, or external professional organizations preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, academic medicine, higher education, physician recruitment, executive search, or specialized recruitment preferred.
