Primary Responsibilities of Position

This position is responsible for the performance of all development program activities required to successfully meet all cost, schedule and technical requirements as defined in customer contract documentation and/or internal program documentation. This position will serve as the primary management interface to the customer and facilitate the development and performance of all team leaders during the execution of the programs. The current program team is spread across multiple different Honeywell sites plus multiple major external suppliers. The total scope of this position is approximately $200M in annual revenue. With a total program revenue predicted to be in the $1B range.

This position requires extensive interface with the Customer Business Manager (CBM), Program Managers, technical managers, product line engineers, integrated supply chain, the customer & product support team. Job tasks also includes extensive communications and direction of supporting functions such as contracts, program planning & control and finance. This position also requires travel to assist in interfacing with key customers and major suppliers/partners.

This position reports to the Sr. Director Customer Business and will have responsibility for ensuring all program management disciplines are implemented on this program as well as supporting strategic business initiatives across related programs. This position will focus on the management of programs operating in the development stage. Supporting tasks will include new opportunity development, proposal generation, baseline management, internal team leadership and customer communications at multiple levels. He/She is accountable for developing and deploying cost effective management operating system, program management processes and methods to achieve improved technical, schedule and cost performance.

Specific duties include

1. Directly responsible for Program Performance for GMLRS Development and Production Programs – including satisfaction of the technical specifications, on-time delivery of all schedule milestones and on-budget cost performance. Other primary performance metrics are the VOC results of DSOE and the outside customer.

2. Establish and maintain appropriate business relationships with assigned customer and program participants and act as management focal point for program related activities.

3. Establish, maintain, and lead the development team, including establishment of program plans, enabling processes, and broadly matrixed management operating systems aligned with IPDS to integrate and drive program & project performance, including VOC performance (e.g., delivery on commitments, quality, responsiveness, reliability, service & development) and financial performance (e.g., revenue, contribution margin, billing, receivables, warranty, growth, support STRAP process).

4. Provide technical expertise in planning, execution, and leadership of program, projects, and initiatives across all GMLRS development activities..

5. Control program scope, baseline changes, and net investment during design and development phases of assigned programs.

6. Maintain excellent relationships with all levels of the matrix organization.

7. Ensure appropriate resolution of VOC issues, including customer service requests and customer quality/reliability issues in conjunction with Customer Quality.

8. Support the successful integration of technology road map for future related system designs.

Responsibilities

Technical skill requirements Mechanical and Electrical Sub-Systems development including Navigation and Guidance plus Electrotechnical components . Strong customer relationship skills required. Cross functional and matrixed influence skills required. Relationships include: Executive Management, Engineering COEs, Systems Engineering, Contracts, Export Compliance, ISC, Customer & Product Support, Certification Liaisons, Customer Quality, Customer Sales, Marketing & Product Management for strategic technology roadmap development.

  • 7+ years of relevant program or project management experience in related Guidance & Navigation or other Aerospace areas, with a demonstrated track record of delivering successful results for a customer program.
  • Proven ability to build & lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Ability to think broadly & integratively. Experience setting & prioritizing goals and identifying & scoping effort.
  • Solid skill set in all aspects of Program or Project Management including knowledge of IPDS and PM tools and processes. Program Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable.
  • Demonstrated competency in Six Sigma tools, software, and design processes. Six Sigma Greenbelt trained/certified.
  • Strong customer & executive communication skills.
