Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Program Director for Mainframe Optimization & Delivery, focused on leading strategic client engagements, modernizing legacy environments, and driving transformational outcomes. You will guide multi-team delivery, governance, and pre-sales activities while building trusted advisor relationships across clients.

The role requires deep mainframe expertise, excellent communication, and a proven track record in large-scale programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technology consulting, program management, or enterprise IT delivery.
• Deep understanding of mainframe technologies (z/OS, scheduling, tape management).
• Proven experience leading large-scale optimization or transformation programs.
• Strong background in client engagement, solutioning, and pre-sales support.
• Proficiency with Jira, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; PMP/Agile a plus.
• Experience in managed services or hybrid IT environments.
• Strategic thinker with proactive problem-solving.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as Program Director and advisor on mainframe optimization and modernization.
• Lead end-to-end program delivery, planning, execution, governance, and stakeholder management.
• Provide project/program management for delivery of projects.
• Support pre-sales activities with solution design, scoping, proposals, and client presentations.
• Develop and maintain program plans, timelines, budgets, and resources using Jira/Asana/MS Project/Smartsheet.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of technical solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement across mainframe environments through automation and cost optimization.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
• Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and client requirements.
• Supervise groups of projects and align program execution to long-term objectives.
• Build strong client relationships and trusted-advisor status.
• Manage communications across Ensono, client stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers.
• Participate in pre-sale cycle to define governance and executable delivery structure.
• Develop project plans aligned to contracted deliverables and provide guidance and issue resolution.
• Identify and manage cross-functional programs across Ensono and client teams.
• Forecast resources and manage program P&L including revenue and costs.
• Monitor milestones and deliverables across programs and related projects.
