Job summary

Acentra Health is seeking a Program Director to lead healthcare programs with occasional Alaska travel (up to 25%). The role involves coordinating projects, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of services and deliverables while maintaining strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate has extensive program management and leadership experience in Medicare/Medicaid settings, plus proficiency with MS Project, SharePoint, and collaboration tools. A PMP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 10 years’ experience in project planning and delivery related to the role.
  • 10 years’ experience in managerial and leadership roles.
  • Medicare, Medicaid, or healthcare verticals domain knowledge with claims processing experience.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, MS Teams, Skype; knowledge of MS Project EV Metrics.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines, researching technology issues, and taking initiative on projects.
  • Experience leading and managing complex technical programs and teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and evaluation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to Alaska for client visits.

  • Prepare status reports for internal leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Support strategic planning to align activities with organizational objectives and growth.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to team members responsible for program functions.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to support new opportunities.

Job Summary

Program Director to join our growing team. This position requires travel to AK, up to 25%.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate healthcare programs, ensuring successful delivery of services, projects, and deliverables on schedule and within budget.
  • Monitor program performance metrics, quality performance, deliverables, and budgets to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and organizational goals.
  • Identify and address operational challenges, leveraging problem‑solving skills to deliver practical solutions.
  • Maintain strong, successful relationships with clients and key stakeholders, serving as a primary point of contact for program‑related communication.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including clinical, technical, and administrative personnel, to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures to improve program efficiency and outcomes.
  • Manage program risk by identifying potential issues, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring readiness for program launch and day‑to‑day operations.
  • Prepare status reports and updates for internal leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives to align program activities with organizational objectives and contribute to growth and innovation.
  • Provide operational oversight and guidance to team members responsible for specific program functions or phases.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to support new business opportunities as requested.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or experience in lieu of degree
  • 10 years’ experience in a project planning and delivery as related to role
  • 10 years’ experience in managerial and leadership role.
  • Medicare, Medicaid, or healthcare verticals domain knowledge with claims processing knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated abilities with Microsoft Project, SharePoint applications, MS Teams, Skype and knowledge of MS Project EV Metrics.
  • Proven track record to meet and enforce deadlines, conduct research into technology issues and products, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex technical programs
  • Demonstrated successful people management and presentation skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement in solving complex and unusual technical, administrative, and managerial problems
  • Ability to meet and enforce deadlines, to conduct research into technology issues and products, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and evaluate skills
  • Travel up to 25% to Alaska for client visits
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of best practice in healthcare operations.
  • Knowledge of government policy and structure.
  • Knowledge of metrics, productivity measures and reporting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory agency compliance.
  • Knowledge of contract development and implementation.
  • Budget and financial skills.
  • Able to lead and manage direct reports to achieve contract deliverables.
  • Aptitude for systems planning and prioritization of tasks
  • Competent communication skills (written and verbal and listening); uses appropriate interpersonal skills with variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide supervision to staff that ensures excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and supervision to meet contract deliverables for all operations
  • Provide data analysis and reporting that meets the contractor’s goals of quality care and cost effectiveness in a timely manner.
  • Provide consultation to contractor on system and policy issues.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

Experience In Lieu Of Degree

For non-clinical roles, or when not required by the contract specifically, the Company acknowledges that practical, hands‑on experience can provide skills and competencies equivalent to formal education. As such, in cases where a Bachelor’s degree may be required, the Company will accept a minimum of six (6) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree. In instances where the candidate has an Associate's degree, the Company will accept a minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.

Compensation

Pay Range USD $145,200.00 - USD $181,500.00 /Yr.
