Job description

Northwell Health and the Department of Medicine is seeking a Program Director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program at North Shore University Hospital/ Long Island Jewish Medical Center (NS/LIJ). This is an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognized division that provides high quality clinical care to older adults and those with serious and advanced illnesses.

Position Overview

The Director of the Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program is a pivotal leadership role responsible for day‑to‑day management and strategic direction of the fellowship. This includes developing and overseeing a comprehensive educational curriculum, both inpatient and outpatient, and ensuring the program’s full compliance with all institutional and regulatory standards. The Director will be instrumental in fostering the next generation of palliative care specialists. The program anticipates 6 positions a year.

The ideal candidate should be board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, have a minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical practice of hospice and palliative medicine, and have at least two years of documented educational and/or administrative experience in an ACGME‑accredited hospice and palliative medicine program.
