Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs within a designated Clubhouse, such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. Plan, develop, oversee implementation, and supervise programs and program staff.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare Youth for Success
- Plan and oversee the administration of designated Clubhouse programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes.
- Establish Clubhouse program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission.
- Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
- Encourage members to participate in various program areas and receive instruction and feedback to develop skills.
- Mentor youth as part of the BGC Youth Development Strategy.
- Demonstrate leadership to ensure conduct, safety, and development of members.
Program Development and Implementation
- Establish and maintain Clubhouse program goals and ensure the health and safety of members.
- Ensure staff understand and communicate standards, maintain a safe environment, and keep equipment in good condition.
- Evaluate programs continually and adapt to member needs and cultural considerations.
- Manage program and activity expenditures within the approved budget.
- Allocate and monitor work assigned to volunteers and staff, providing feedback and development opportunities.
- Oversee record keeping and reporting of activities, participation, achievements, and issues.
- Ensure effective performance of all program staff and volunteers.
Marketing and Public Relations
- Increase visibility of programs through daily schedules, announcements, and dissemination of approved information.
- All media releases must be approved by the CEO.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee special programs or events and participate in other activities as needed.
- Consult with parents regarding members and branch issues.
- Handle accounting of funds as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit/Branch Director.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: Maintain daily contact with staff, members, and supervisor for information exchange, guidance, and counseling.
- External: Contact community groups, schools, parents, and others to resolve issues and promote the Club.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- High School Diploma with relevant education and experience.
- Knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs' mission, policies, and procedures; principles of non-profit organizations.
- Leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions independently.
- CPR and First Aid certification within the first six months.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Exposure to loud noises.
