A philanthropic intermediary seeks a passionate and visionary Program Director to enhance the youth organizing field. This fully remote role focuses on grantmaking, capacity building, and leading strategic initiatives aimed at empowering youth for social justice. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and a deep understanding of political, racial, and economic justice.
The Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing (FCYO) is a philanthropic intermediary that brings funders and youth organizers together to ensure young people have the resources, capacities, and infrastructure needed to fight for a more just and democratic society. FCYO believes that to move toward justice, BIPOC youth, working-class young people, young women, and queer and trans youth play a critical role in transforming economic and social conditions. To build this power, youth organizing must build bases at significant scale, develop broad strategic alliances, and elevate public narratives promoting social justice and true democracy. Our work is grounded in close relationships with the youth organizing field and a commitment to meaningful partnerships between funders and youth organizers.
FCYO seeks a passionate and visionary Program Director with a commitment to building a more powerful, strategic, and aligned youth organizing field. Candidates should have robust knowledge of youth organizing, excellent communication skills, and a sophisticated analysis of the current political moment rooted in racial, economic, and gender justice. The Program Director will develop and lead a multitiered grantmaking, capacity building, and peer learning program to support youth organizers in building the power necessary for structural change. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to our mission and vision, experience in designing political education and leadership development programs, and an understanding of philanthropy. FCYO is a fully remote organization; the position can be based anywhere in the U.S., with some evening and weekend work required. Some travel will be necessary when FCYO resumes travel, anticipated in Summer 2021.
