Job summary

Qualifications

River Oaks Hospital is seeking a talented and dynamic Program Director - Eating Disorders and Trauma to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals!

This is a full-time, onsite position at our facility in Harahan, LA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Director - Trauma and Eating Disorders coordinates, implements and delivers all therapeutic services related to the New Orleans Institute for Trauma/Compulsivity Therapy Program; develops and presents lectures on related topics while representing River Oaks Hospital. Oversee all clinical aspects of the program to ensure that it is running at top performance. Oversee all marketing aspects of the department with the help of the Director of Business Development. Promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of River Oaks Hospital. Performs duties in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Key Accountabilities & Duties:
  • Supervises all trauma therapy (SW) staff on a daily basis to ensure the highest quality patient care and clinical proficiency.
  • Ensure all groups are occurring, clinical standards are being upheld and manage the day to day schedule of the unit.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage for the unit at all times based on the grid and clinical acuity of the unit
  • Work closely with the Director of Business Development and referrals sources to increase and manage referrals to the unit.
  • Provide clinical insight to workshops, papers, etc. as needed
  • Attends all treatment team meetings, staffing and treatment planning sessions.
  • Conducts individual, family, group psychotherapy and psychoeducational modules as needed; demonstrate a high level of clinical skill to address the needs of the patient and their family.
  • Demonstrates a high level of knowledge in the application of various therapeutic concepts, methods and interventions related to trauma and compulsive behaviors.
  • Assess, identify, plan and coordinate patient discharge needs from date of admission to date of discharge according to department policy and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling with specialization in mental health.
  • Possesses an unencumbered license; i.e., LPC, LCSW; by a certified board in Louisiana.
  • Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification preferred.
  • A minimum of two yrs. experience in individual, group, and family therapy; must have experience in trauma and compulsive behavior treatment interventions plus relapse preventions;
  • Ability to assess the needs and provide the required range of treatment modalities and interventions for trauma and compulsive behavior clients.
