Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus in Florida seeks a Program Director to provide operational leadership for assigned programs, develop future leaders, and deliver strong outcomes for children and families statewide.

You’ll oversee program quality, financial and staff performance, build collaboration with leadership, and drive continuous improvement. This role demands accountability, innovation, and a commitment to child welfare excellence.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Human Services or related field required.
  • Child Welfare Certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Child Welfare, Dependency, Foster Care, Adoption, Social Work, DCF, or related services.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience within child welfare.
  • Strong operational, financial, and people leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environments.
  • Experience coaching, developing, and holding teams accountable.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to meet program credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership for assigned programs to ensure strong outcomes for children and families.
  • Oversee program quality, financial and operational performance, and compliance.
  • Develop leaders through succession planning and staff development.
  • Foster staff engagement and retention and build a culture of accountability.
  • Cultivate community partnerships and stakeholder relationships; drive strategic planning and growth.

As Program Director, you'll provide operational leadership and oversight for assigned programs, ensuring strong outcomes for the children and families we serve while developing the leaders who make that success possible.

Requirements
What You Bring
  • Master's Degree in Human Services or a related field
  • Child Welfare Certification
