Job description

Program Director – Adult Residential SUD Treatment

Pathway to Peace is a licensed adult residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facility located in Sylmar, California. We serve a six-bed community offering trauma-informed care through social detox, residential treatment, and aftercare planning. Our mission is to provide a safe, structured, and compassionate environment where recovery is treated with dignity.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Program Director to oversee day-to-day treatment operations in our adult residential setting. This role is ideal for a candidate with hands-on SUD program experience, a behavioral health education background, and a passion for recovery-oriented care. The Program Director will ensure operations align with DHCS regulations and uphold clinical and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support treatment staff (counselors, techs, case managers)
  • Maintain program compliance with DHCS Title 9/22 requirements
  • Oversee documentation including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes
  • Coordinate admissions, discharge planning, and client scheduling
  • Conduct routine audits and assist with licensing upkeep
  • Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement and staff training

Minimum Requirements (Must Meet One of the Following):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health or related field + 2 years full-time experience in a licensed SUD program
  • Associate’s degree in a related field + 4 years experience, including 2 in a supervisory role
  • Certified AOD Counselor (CADTP, CCAPP, or CAADE) + 4 years experience in SUD programs, 2 of which in management

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience with Title 9/22 audits and documentation
  • Familiarity with ASAM criteria and treatment planning standards
  • Competitive hourly or salaried pay based on experience
