Position Summary

We seek an experienced, highly organized, mission-driven Program Director to lead outreach program operations across our three-county service area. The director supervises facilitators, ensures quality programming, manages enrollment and census reporting, oversees data collection, and tracks outcomes.

We are seeking a proactive, collaborative leader ready to hit the ground running who thrives in a small, mission-driven team where flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to pitch in are essential. The ideal candidate balances priorities, works closely with colleagues, and contributes wherever needed. • Collaborate with the Executive Director on improvements, priorities, and organization-wide initiatives.
Staff Leadership and Accountability
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate outreach facilitators; coordinate schedules and coverage.
  • Set expectations for professionalism, preparation, communication, and performance.
  • Lead team meetings, training, and check-ins; address concerns promptly.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, mission-centered culture of shared responsibility.
Data Collection, Census, and Outcomes
  • Oversee accurate collection of enrollment, attendance, demographic, and participation data.
  • Maintain current census records; monitor enrollment, retention, attendance, and site capacity.
  • Ensure timely, accurate database entry and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate surveys and assessments; prepare regular reports for the Executive Director.
  • Provide data for grant reporting, funder updates, and organizational planning.
  • Maintain confidential, organized participant records in accordance with policy.
School and Community Partnerships
  • Build relationships with school administrators, teachers, families, and community partners.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned sites and support recruitment and retention.
  • Represent Girls Inc. professionally throughout the three-county service area.
Program Quality and Youth Safety

  • Ensure compliance with youth protection policies and mandatory reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in youth programs, education, nonprofit services, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising staff or coordinating programs.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, data management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage competing priorities while working collaboratively.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed across Knox, Anderson, and Blount counties; reliable transportation.
  • Ability to complete required background screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • School-based or community outreach experience; work with youth facing adversity.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive youth development.
