Executive Director at Market Umbrella (Crescent City Farmers Market)

We’re Market Umbrella, a dynamic New Orleans-based nonprofit on a mission to build a stronger, more equitable local food system. Through our Crescent City Farmers Markets, community nutrition education, and food access initiatives like Market Match and Market Mommas Club, we’re passionate about fostering health, culture, and opportunity. As we approach our 30th anniversary, we’re looking for a passionate and organized Program Director to take our programming to the next level!

About the Role

Lead impactful community nutrition and food access programs, reporting directly to the Executive Director. You’ll manage program staff, oversee program development, evaluate impact, and cultivate community partnerships. Join our team to make a real difference in food equity in New Orleans!

You’ll:

Direct and expand nutrition incentive and education programs

Manage and mentor program staff, including SNAP-Ed and Market Match coordinators

Develop relationships with local, state, and national stakeholders

Maintain program consistency and compliance with grant requirements

Participate in leadership meetings and fundraising events

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, public health, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Bring 5+ years of program planning and leadership experience
• Have strong interpersonal, communication, and data analysis skills
• Can balance strategic leadership with hands-on program management
• Are comfortable with flexible work hours and reliable transportation
• Bonus: Speak Spanish or Vietnamese!
