Program Director

Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.

POSITION FOCUS:
The Program Director is responsible to the RedZone Memphis’ Executive Director (or designee) for implementing the planning, coordination, and execution of RedZone’s programs. The person in this position is expected to promote and develop outreach efforts among urban young people, particularly in Orange Mound. The Director is also responsible for equipping, enabling, and empowering staff working for Red Zone Ministries.

SPECIFIC TASKS:

1. DIRECT MINISTRY:

• Manage and facilitate a regular club.
• Facilitate weekly Bible studies or discipleship groups.
• Internationalize holistic efforts in a specified community.
• Network with churches, para-church organizations, and other entities.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:

• Network with potential partners.
• Recruit and nurture donors and potential donors.
• Internationalize marketing of RZ ministry through mass communication, seminars, public speaking, and attending mission fairs or conferences as appropriate.
• Supervise ministry staff, including accountability to mission strategy and vision, managing staff efficiency, individual goal setting, and hiring/firing.

RELATIONSHIP WITH BOARD:

• Attend all RedZone board meetings and collaborate with various committees at the discretion of the Executive Director.

REPRESENTING RED ZONE IN THE COMMUNITY:

• Speak to groups such as churches and community organizations about the ministry.
• Develop relationships and new contacts with individuals, groups, or churches in the community under the direction of the Executive staff.
• Participate in fundraising efforts under the guidance of the Executive Director/C.E.O. and the Board.
