Job summary

Preferred Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Program Counselor in Lakewood, NJ to provide psychoeducational groups and case management for a co-occurring population. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, with a day shift and no weekends or major holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, or LPN with 2 years experience in addictions and mental health issues.
• Valid New Jersey Driver's License in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Engages Co-Occurring clients and provides explanation of services; Works effectively with the full spectrum of diagnosis disorders.
• Demonstrates ability to assess risk category, mental status, level of compliance and motivation.
• Demonstrates ability to assess clients’ needs, and provide interventions that are timely and appropriate.
• Effectively provides group counseling, utilizing our best practice curriculum.
• Completes progress/group notes accurately, addressing treatment goals, major clinical issues and changes in mental health status.

Job Description/Summary

The Program Counselor is responsible for providing psychoeducational groups and case management to co-occurring population. The Program Counselor also provides linkages to resources and completes all documentation in a timely manner. This is a full time position, Monday though Friday, day shift.
