Job description

Position: Financial Program Controls Analyst – Naval Standard Missile Systems (NSMS) program, SM-6 Production team, located in Tucson, AZ (on‑site with case‑by‑case remote work). Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.

Overview

Report to the Program Management Team and play a key role in forecasting, risk identification, and financial planning for a major production contract.

What You Will Do
  • Operate independently and exercise sound judgment in forecasting, risk identification, and financial planning.
  • Provide thorough cost and schedule analysis.
  • Coordinate development of quarterly Estimate‑at‑Completion (EAC).
  • Provide financial guidance and solutions to Program Team and Leads.
  • Prepare finance charts for Program Management Reviews, monthly operating reviews, financial overviews and other reporting activities.
  • Maintain cost, schedule, and financial analysis/reporting using standard company tools.
  • Implement and maintain Earned Value Management.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs).
  • Establish and maintain program logs (Work Authorization, Contract Modification Log, R&O).

  • Advanced forecasting and EAC methodologies across a complex, multi‑year production environment.
  • Integrate technology refresh and obsolescence mitigation into production baselines.
  • Long‑lead material planning and funding strategy with Supply Chain and Operations.
  • Executive‑level communication of program financial performance and risk posture.
  • Cross‑functional influence within a matrixed organization supporting large‑scale defense production.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or equivalent experience and at least 8 years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with at least 5 years).
  • Experience interfacing and conducting business with functional disciplines (Contracts, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain) in program development and execution.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Advanced Excel skills with Power Query.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (DoD Secret).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to meet critical deadlines and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – effective at all management levels.
  • Proactive, creative, innovative with critical and strategic thinking.
