Job summary

Spirit Aerosystems Holdings is seeking a Level 2 Program Cost & Schedule Control Analyst to provide cost support for Aeronautics Sector programs on site in Melbourne, FL.

The role requires a DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one, and involves setting up and maintaining cost control systems, budgets, schedules, and forecasts across contracts with EVM awareness. On-site with occasional travel expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with related experience in program control, cost planning, finance or budgeting.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Office.
  • Experience in cost planning, budgeting and financial analyses.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance in a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

  • Set up cost control system and monitor costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated cost schedule control system.
  • Perform analyses and prepare reports to ensure contracts stay within negotiated parameters.
  • Prepare budgets and schedules and perform financial analyses such as funding profiles and variance analysis.
  • Prepare program plans to ensure requirements and SOW are captured and scheduled.
  • Monitor funding availability and project expenditures with projections.
  • Monthly material and subcontract financial forecasting.
  • Incorporate contractual changes into control systems and maintain baselines.
  • Perform monthly financial reporting, forecasting and EACs.
  • Improve financial reporting processes to enhance efficiencies.

Job Overview

Level 2 Program Cost & Schedule Control Analyst position located on site in Melbourne, FL. The role provides cost support for program activities within the Aeronautics Sector.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Setting up cost control system, monitoring and controlling costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated cost schedule control system
  • Performing analyses and preparing reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters
  • Preparing budgets and schedules for contract work and performing and/or assisting in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis
  • Preparing program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled
  • Monitoring funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures and preparing expenditure projections
  • Monthly material and subcontract financial forecasting
  • Incorporating contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines
  • Performing miscellaneous financial analysis including monthly financial reporting/forecasting and monthly EACs
  • Continuously assessing and improving financial reporting processes to enhance efficiencies
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years experience in program control, cost planning, business, finance, budgeting and/or similar industry related fields OR a Master’s Degree with experience in program control, cost planning, business, finance, budgeting and/or similar industry related fields
  • Microsoft Office experience, including MS Excel, will be needed for the role
  • Financial or accounting experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company, before starting the position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP, Deltek Cobra/MPM
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Department of Defense (DoD) experience
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Aerospace, Space, or Defense industry experience on a production contract
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
