Job summary

California State University, Sacramento is seeking an Assistant Program Coordinator Trainee (APCT) for the APIDA Center. The trainee period, not to exceed 12 months, develops knowledge and abilities to function under supervision at the SSP IB level, under the Center Coordinator and Director.

The APCT mentors students, works with interns and student assistants to design and deliver programs, promotes student excellence through events, materials, and campus-wide committee representation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic principles of individual and group behavior.
• Knowledge of research and observation techniques for recording, classifying and interpreting information.
• Knowledge of interviewing techniques and methods.
• Ability to gather and analyze data; reason logically; draw conclusions and make recommendations.
• Ability to participate in group meetings, conferences and interviews; communicate clearly.
• Ability to express ideas orally and write clear, concise reports; maintain cooperative relationships.
• Commitment to a welcoming and inclusive environment with diverse colleagues and constituents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the APIDA Center Coordinator to deliver integrated support services and programming.
• Mentor and advise students; work with interns and student assistants to support staff in programs for students.
• Help design and deliver events and materials to promote student excellence and campus representation.
