Job summary

YMCA of Greater Long Beach is seeking a program supervisor to oversee branch activities with ED support. You will manage programs, handle enrollments, and ensure accurate use of DAXKO and related systems.

This role requires youth development experience, video editing and photography skills, and the ability to lead staff, promote programs, and assist with fundraising. CPR/First Aid/AED certification and flexible schedule are required.

Qualifications

  • Youth development experience (4-5 years) required or preferred.
  • Video Editing and Photography/Editing skills with portfolio.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; related experience acceptable.
  • CPR, First Aid and AED certification required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Criminal clearance and health screening required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise branch programs, manage cash and enrollments, and ensure proper software usage.
  • Track usage, generate reports, and conduct satisfaction surveys.
  • Assist member relations, new sign-ups, and financial assistance processing.
  • Hire, train, schedule, supervise staff and participate in meetings.
  • Promote programs through publications and community events.
  • Lead fundraising efforts and serve as liaison for events.
  • Enforce safety standards and protect assets.
  • Attend staff trainings and maintain open communication with supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00

Position Summary:

Responsible for supervising the activities of a program with the direct support of the Executive Director.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Manage Branch programs, cash management and receipting procedures, enrollments and registrations, receivables and payments. Monitor program usage, check-in and service procedures, cancellations and changes. Ensure the accurate processing and management of program software systems including DAXKO and others.

2. Track program usage, inquiries, tours, terminations, etc.; prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports and schedules; collect and distribute program evaluations; conduct quality checks and satisfaction surveys.

3. Assist with member relations and involvement, member services inquiries, complaints and concerns. Responsible for new program sign-ups, and program needs. Process financial assistance requests.

4. Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of staff. Attend regular staff meetings and assist as needed. Ensure program requirements are enforced.

5. Assist with promoting program awareness through publications, marketing materials and member promotion programs. Participate in community/facility events.

6. Assist with fundraising and special event efforts; serve as a staff liaison for fundraising team. Provide staff leadership for branch special events.

7. Follow and enforce safety standards, policies and procedures. Ensure proper care and use of assets.

8. Attend all staff meetings, trainings and other YMCA functions as required by supervisor.

9. Maintain open lines of communication with staff, parents, and supervisor.

10. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. College Degree and/or equivalent experience required.

2. CPR, First Aid and AED certification required.

3. 2 years experience in related field required.

4. Experience in program leadership and staff supervision preferred.

5. Experience in sales/marketing, membership retention, program leadership and staff supervision preferred

6. Ability to handle multiple assignments, organizational skills, basic PC and typing skills required.

7. Additional Requirements: Criminal Clearance: Including Fingerprints and background clearance

8. Health Screening with Negative TB Test and Negative Drug test screening.

9. Complete online new employee orientation and child abuse prevention training.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

BRANCH SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

1. Develop fundraising strategies, i.e., grants, community giving, fundraising events.

2. Meet all required reporting and contract requirements as needed.

3. Assist in the marketing, development, and distribution of program information.

4. Help develop curriculum for the Youth Institute and ensure the Youth Institute remains

relevant and is seen as the national model of Youth Development.

5. Plan Teen Tech Center/ Youth Institute trips, retreats, excursions, and other special

events required by grants/contracts.

6. Help coach and provide mentorship for staff at the Teen Tech Center and Youth Institute

7. Create and implement a college readiness component of the Teen Tech Center

8. Implement best practices when working with clients to ensure the growth and financial

success of Change Agent Productions (This includes doing outreach to potential/existing

clients, social media, developing actions plans to ensure projects are managing effectively

while involving teens, and working with the director to develop quotes/invoices).

9. Ensure all CAP-related programming aligns with YI values, supports workforce

development pathways, and integrates positive youth practices.
