Salary/Grade: EXS/6

Target hiring range for this position will be between $56,782 and $70,978 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Job Summary

Provides management for DPT education program operations and provides day‑to‑day oversight and administrative duties for the Assistant Chair of Curricular Affairs and DPT Program Administrator.

60‑75% of the Senior Program Coordinator’s time will be working alongside Course Directors of specific and/or credit‑heavy courses to help with administration and day‑to‑day course operations. This position provides support and implementation of course activities, such as managing specific student accommodations; scheduling and overseeing exams and additional practice and make‑ups; arranging room set‑up and breakdown; managing class volunteers and payment; and managing the recruiting and hiring process of DPT operational student workers.

20‑30% of the Senior Program Coordinator’s time will be spent working in DPT course support reporting to Program Administrator and Assistant Director of Student Affairs. Duties related to DPT course support include proctoring exams, providing a variety of administrative support for faculty and student services such as accommodations, curriculum, program evaluation, recommending alternatives for course requirements, reviewing administrative processes and procedures regarding student services and recommending changes.

Additionally, the Senior Program Coordinator will be in charge of event logistics for department‑related events, such as securing space for events, arranging and ordering catering, and making travel arrangements for visitors.

Specific Responsibilities
Administration
  • Oversees and ensures that day‑to‑day operations are appropriately managed, efficient and effective.
  • Develops, maintains and reports on quantitative and qualitative performance measures.
  • Oversees documentation of agreements between NU and partner organizations, ensuring that agreements are completed, appropriately reviewed, approved and adhered to by all parties.
  • Acts as liaison to IT to ensure technology systems are properly installed and maintained and meet the informational, analytical and computing needs of users.
  • Ensures necessary hardware, software and network infrastructure services are appropriated from central or internal IT.
  • Issues work order requests for maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
Communication, Outreach & Recruitment
  • Ensures program/project success in regard to revenue and expense goals, including recruitment and participation.
  • Identifies opportunities and strategies for short‑ and long‑term growth and expansion.
  • Creates and implements program/project brand identity and marketing and advertising strategy.
  • Oversees marketing of new and current programs, working with partner institutions and media to ensure the marketing plan effectively targets applicants, sponsors and others.
  • Ensures that all advertising and marketing materials accurately represent programs.
  • Pursues opportunities for alumni contact and solicitation.
Evaluation
  • Manages development and maintenance of evaluation processes including associated metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Reviews and analyzes outcome measurements and recommends changes and enhancements to improve program/project.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to implement changes designed to improve or increase program/project goals and objectives.
Events
  • Manages programming, educational, student and alumni workshops, meetings, and other events, including speakers and agendas.
  • Plans and arranges meetings, workshops and events designed to exchange information, promote research objectives and build internal and external relationships within NU.
  • Manages event details, including communication, venues, presenters, travel arrangements, materials, refreshments and technology to ensure everything is arranged and completed in an appropriate and timely manner.
Faculty Support
  • Manages recruitment of faculty.
  • Provides logistical and operational recommendations for management of faculty appointments, credentialing and exit (retirement and termination) processes.
  • Applies policies, recommends changes and implements new procedures to ensure consistent interpretation.
  • Manages all aspects of faculty administrative tasks such as colloquium, seminar, travel, faculty COI survey, and annual report, ensuring optimal faculty support.
Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a full 4‑year course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Background in higher education or counseling.
  • 2‑5 years of program or project administration or other relevant experience.
Minimum Competencies
  • Collaborative, ability to work and partner with faculty and all levels of staff, provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, Photoshop.
  • Use of web‑based search engines to generate specific research results based on keywords.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, experience with budgeting and financial management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Problem‑solver; critical thinking ability.
  • Demonstrates initiative and follow through.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance competing priorities.
