Provide general office, clerical, and onsite support for all campus mailroom and vending operations within the Residence Operations department. Recruit, hire, schedule, and process payroll for student mailroom employees and full-time mailroom assistants. Process letter mail and package distribution onsite in campus mailrooms and vending distribution as needed. Field a high volume of phone calls and email inquiries from students, parents, and other University departments and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, and process payroll for approximately 100 student mailroom employees.
  • Use scheduling software to ensure mailrooms are staffed appropriately.
  • Create and distribute signage, notices, and forms to mailrooms.
  • Work with and train student employees under the guidance of the Operations Manager.
  • Provide quality customer service to students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Handle a high volume of calls and emails related to mailroom and vending operations.
  • Assist in the vending application process during the academic year and summer semesters.
  • Apply charges and credits as needed in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Work onsite in campus mailrooms as needed.
  • Receive, sort, distribute, and re-direct letter mail and packages to residents using package tracking software or hardware.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to letter mail and package inquiries and issues.
  • Work onsite in the vending operations area and assist in delivery during high-volume periods or absences.
  • Assist in coordinating all payroll and scheduling-related functions for approximately 6 full-time mailroom assistants and 1 part-time shift supervisor.
  • Fill open shifts according to the appropriate seniority or overtime databases.
Required Skills
